Founded in 1969, Pelican International's mission is to provide high quality boats at very affordable prices. Beginning with its introduction of the pedal boat, Pelican produced a complete line-up of canoes and kayaks in the early seventies. It further expanded its products in the early nineties with the introduction of Mini-bass, jon, and fishing boats. It reentered the kayak market in 2001.
Pelican now boasts of more than 50 boat models. These boats are produced in the company's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Pelican boats use RAM-X, the company's own brand of high-density polyethylene material. RAM-X ensures that Pelican boats are durable and damage-resistant. Developed in 1978, Pelican's RAM-X has become an industry benchmark for impact resistance and ability to regain original shape after impact.
