Originally designed for professional fishing guides, Pro-Line Boats started in 1968 with a 24-feet twin console. Its founder Dan Atwood was able to successfully grow the business to become one of the largest manufacturers of blue water fishing boats in the United States.
In 1986, Wall Street investors Lee Kimmell, Lewis Ranieri and Ken Wilson infused capital on Pro-Line and a new company, the American Marine Holdings was born. By 1989, Pro-Line had become known worldwide and its models had expanded from 16 to 28 feet. The Pro-Line site details, "Hi-tech 3610 knitted fiberglass is hand-laid for maximum strength and durability. A 3-ounce skin coat ensures a glass-like exterior surface. Hardware is 316L marine-grade stainless steel, installed with reinforced backing, and fastened with airline locking nuts. All upholstery is top-grade 32 ounce UV-stable, colorfast, low-maintenance vinyl."
