Ranger Boats started in 1968 when founders Forrest and Nina Wood operated a popular fishing service on North Arkansas. Their vision was to build a quality fishing boat that is comfortable, efficient, and durable. The name was derived from the legendary Texas Rangers to reflect the boat’s strength. The strength of the Ranger Boats was literally tested by fire when fire struck the Wood’s entire company in May 1971. The fire destroyed almost everything but the Woods were determined to move on despite the major setback. Forty boat orders were salvaged from an army surplus desk and by the next day, the charred remains were being cleaned up. Ranger Boats was back in business and was in full production in a matter of forty days. To this day, Ranger Boats strive with the same determination to provide high quality boats. The company listens closely to anglers to find out their needs and expectations for new boats. From its original tri-hull designs with basic features, Ranger Boats have evolved with the accelerated standards and performance of today's tournament-driven power vessels. The company is proud of “the smooth ride from our patented hulls... the peace of mind from our upright, level flotation... the strength of our patented fiberglass transoms and fiberglass stringers...the added efficiency of a Ranger livewell system, or even the way every part fits together like a solid, one-piece design.” For Ranger Boats, the key to success is constant innovation.
