Sea Pro Boats has been building value-priced quality saltwater fishing boats since 1987. The Hancock family, who had a long heritage of boat building and were avid boaters and fishermen themselves, founded the company in Blair, South Carolina.
Sea Pro’s first model was an 18-foot center console. Three years later, Sea Pro Boats came out with 21 and 22 foot walkarounds and center consoles. New and bigger boat models were further developed to expand Sea Pro’s product lines. Now housed in their new state-of-the-art facility in Newberry, South Carolina, Sea Pro employs 350 people and has added in their offerings Palmetto Custom in 2001, Sea Boss in 2003 and Skiffs in 2004.
Sea Pro Boats now include 16-27 foot center console, dual console, around, bay and skiff versions.
In late 2004, Brunswick Corporation acquired Sea Pro. It also formed a partnership with leading engine manufacturer Mercury Marine. Every Sea Pro boat is equipped with a Mercury Marine outboard.
Sea Pro boats are regarded as high quality vessels with superior components but at very affordable prices. In fact, the brand enjoys top rating in the list of retail registrations in the saltwater outboard fishing category. Sea Pro Boats are certified by the national Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), a body that puts stringent measures and high standards on boat safety and performance.
