Owners of Sea Ray boats have high confidence not only on the quality of their boats but also on the company behind the products. This is according to results of a survey made by J.D. Powers and Associates. The survey findings also showed that Sea Ray owners were most likely to recommend purchasing a Sea Ray and were most likely inclined to buy another Sea Ray boat themselves. The same survey also ranks Sea Ray highest among express cruiser boats, receiving particularly high ratings from its owners in cabin, maintenance and sound system. Founded in 1959, Sea Ray was a pioneer in the use of fiberglass and other high-tech composite materials in the construction of pleasure boats. Through the years, Sea Ray hinged its success in the boat building business with its dedication to quality, design, technology, customer service and excellent dealer network. Sea Ray, the world's largest manufacturer of quality pleasure boats, produces more than 40 models ranging from 18 to 68 feet. The four families of Sea Ray products include Sport Boats, Sport Cruisers, Sport Yachts, and Yachts. Sea Ray became part of the Brunswick Corporation in 1986. As a member of the Brunswick Group, Sea Ray is able to leverage on its parent firm’s resources to employ the industry's best people and allow them to fund the ideas, innovations and investments. Sea Ray's range of products grew even further in 1995 with Ray Industries' acquisition of a new subsidiary, Baja, the world's largest manufacturer of performance boats. Sea Ray boats are results of intensive use of state-of-the-art technology for the design, construction and testing of boats. With huge investments in technology particularly in the last ten years, Sea Ray constantly refines and updates computer systems that help in the production of new boat models. Likewise, Sea Ray’s high-tech facilities feature the latest innovations in hull construction and gel-coat application. Sea Ray boats boast of superior gel-coat finishes that provide maximum UV protection and a long-lasting high gloss. To achieve this excellent get-coat finish, Sea Ray relies on FANUC P-200 robots that use lasers to guide them, and then spray precisely the right consistency over every part of the surface. Sea Ray boats also undergo extensive testing to make sure that the boats can withstand varying water conditions. By putting a boat model under tank testing, Sea Ray builders analyze how the boat floats and pulls. They also determine how much horsepower is needed to obtain the best possible ride out of the hull. Unlike other boat manufacturers that simply install engines after they build a boat, Sea Ray builds its boats around the engine. Sea Ray has eight manufacturing facilities and has a wide network of dealers. Related links on Sea Ray boats: Sea-Ray center at Boater’s Life What Makes Sea Ray Different?
