Alex Chueh, a businessman from Taipei, Taiwan founded Ocean Alexander in line with his vision to become the finest yacht builder in the world. Together with his partnership with Ed Monk, Jr., the company started to design and build fine motor yachts. Now, under the leadership of Alex Chueh’s son John, Ocean Alexander has expanded its line to include large yachts and the Altus line of sports sedan.

Every Ocean Alexander vessel, including the Altus line, undergoes rigorous safety testing. Although it is an expensive process, the company insists on laboratory controlled testing and rigorous tank testing for all its models to make sure that its yachts will be able to withstand the worst of weather conditions.

The feel of luxury is not something you will find absent in Altus yachts. As much as Ocean Alexander gives careful attention to sound engineering and design, they also painstakingly plan the interior architecture of the yacht starting from the completion of preliminary design drawings.  They understand that the placement of yacht structures and furniture affects the overall structural and hydrodynamics soundness of the yacht. At the same time, it also presents a lot of challenges such as comfort, cabin space, ergonomics and aesthetics.
